Hello young Jedi and Pirate Hunters!  We once again need your help ridding Brownsea Island of them rascally varmit pirates!

Last week we learned how to speak and communicate in code.  This will be important in our battle to defeat the pirates.  Tonight we need to organize a plan to investigate and root out the pirates amongst us.

Our leader Rama has a true life experience dealing with pirates (no not trying to get Matthew to bed).  He will share this experience and the tricks required to identify and capture pirates.  Scouter Brian will also show us how to navigate around the pirates - All skills that a young Jedi needs.

Senior cubs (Grade 5 - Born in 2001) are invited to meet with the 1st Bedford Scouts from 7-8 tonight to learn about proper fire starting (and putting out) and create fire starters for their survival kits.

For tonight you must bring:

1. A compass if you have one - Make sure your name is on it so it does not get lost!
2. The Cub Book - Our written guide to Jedi training.
3. Pencil - For taking forensic (ask Mom) notes.
4. Weekly dues of $2 - Hand in at start of meeting.

Also

1. Popcorn Orders - Please hand in at start of meeting
2. Your registration form and money for our Jedi training camp this weekend.

As usual, the official start of the meeting – the opening ceremony – does not begin until 6:15, but please drop your Cub off any time between 6:00 and 6:15 so we can set up the equipment and play a quick gathering game. Please do not drop your Cub off before 6:00 p.m. We'll wrap up and clean up between 7:25 and 7:30, so please be available to pick your Cub up at that time.

Please note that Scouts Canada policy requires at least two leaders to be present before you leave your child in our custody. It's therefore important for parents to pop into the hall to make sure that we're there before driving off. Parents are also welcome to stay for our meetings and other outdoor activities.
