Cub Pack Meeting - Investiture and Remembrance

Good Afternoon 1st Bedford Cub Pack,

Our meeting this week has 2 main themes:

Investiture of the new Tenderpads into our Cub Scout Family and Remembrance and Thanksgiving

Investiture of New Cubs

We will begin our meeting with investiture of the new cubs.  Parents are encouraged to stay and participate in the investiture ceremony.  Investiture will begin at 6:35 and will take 10 minutes.  Bring a slider for your son.  Everything else will be provided.  Cub are all to be in their dress uniforms.

Remembrance Day Activities

The second half of the meeting will be focused on Remembrance Day activities.  On Remembrance Day, November 11, the cubs will be participating with the entire 1st Beford Group at the Remembrance Day Service at the Bedford Cenotaph in Fish Hatchery Park.  After the Remembrance Day Service youth and their families are invited to the Bedford United Church for a leaf raking, garden clean-up and lunch. Lunch is being provide by the 1st Bedford Group and the 1st Bedford Venturers.

For the meeting, cubs should wear their full uniforms to our regular meetings and bring along a Ziploc bag clearly marked with their name and containing the following:
1. Weekly dues to $2
2. The Cub Book (if they have it).
3. Pencil

As usual, the official start of the meeting – the opening ceremony – does not begin until 6:15, but please drop your Cub off any time between 6:00 and 6:15 so we can set up the equipment and play a quick gathering game. Please do not drop your Cub off before 6:00 p.m. We'll wrap up and clean up between 7:25 and 7:30, so please be available to pick your Cub up at that time.

Please note that Scouts Canada policy requires at least two leaders to be present before you leave your child in our custody. It's therefore important for parents to pop into the hall to make sure that we're there before driving off. Parents are also welcome to stay for our meetings and other outdoor activities.
