Cub Pack Winter Night Hike to Miller Lake Cabin
Hello Pack - Time once again to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
We will be going on a hike to the 1st Bedford Cabin at the Scouts Canada property on Miller's Lake. On the hike to the cabin we will be observing the difference in habitats between the cabin woods and the urban habitat of our neighbourhoods in Bedford. This is all part of our World Conservation Badge that we will hope to earn in the next few weeks.
Where and When
We will meet as a pack at Pump House Lane #100 (see attachment or Reference section of website) at 6:30 and will hike into the cabin at 6:40. Parents are welcome to come as well. We will hike out and meet parents for pick up at 8:00 at same drop-off location.
What to Bring
Cubs are to bring a backpack with:
- Their survival kit – if they have one
- a flashlight for the hike out
- a water bottle or their own drinks <no hot chocolate will be provide this time>
- no camping knives. They will not be necessary
- 1 or 2 pieces of firewood. As not all people have access to fire wood, we would appreciate if more could be donated.
Other Things to Bring
Dues of $2. Money for Moosehead tickets (see below)
What to Wear
Dress for the weather. Waterproof winter boots are a must (no sneakers). Rubber boots can get cold. The hike is not too long.
