The Group Committee is essentially responsible to its sponsor and Scouts Canada for providing quality programs to Youth members and administrative support to the Section Leaders on behalf of Scouts Canada.

The Group Commissioner chairs a group of Parent Volunteers who oversee the planning and supervision of age appropriate activities that are delivered to youth members of Scouts Canada.The Group Committee provides the administrative foundation for the 1st Bedford Group. The Group currently consists of 39 adult volunteers and 110 youth members.
