Doug Gallant

Leader Name:
Scouter Doug

Like many of us, Doug was involved in Scouting as a youth, first as a Cub in 1st Hathi Pack, St. Jean, Quebec then on to Scouts.  When his family moved to Westfield, New Brunswick, he joined the 1st Westfield Scout Troop which was lead by a superb Scouter called Al Thompson.  He had some great experiences in those years in which he learned about teamwork, leadership and himself... and had a pile of fun.  As an adult, Doug served as a Venturer Advisor in Paradise, Newfoundland for a year in 1998 and now with 1st Bedford Scout Troop.  He hopes to contribute to this excellent group in Bedford and serve the youth who are our future leaders.

Doug works for Dalhousie University in the Engineering & Computer Science Co-operative Education program (since 2006).  He is also a reserve Artillery officer with the 1st (Halifax-Dartmouth) Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery at the rank of Major.  Doug and his family, Tasha and their kids Alex and Abbey, have lived in Bedford since 2002.
